Terms of Use

Effective date: July 21, 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the BudgetPeasy website, web application, iOS application, Android application, and related services collectively referred to as the “Service.”

The Service is operated by Peasy Software LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company (“Peasy Software,” “BudgetPeasy,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By creating an account, accessing, or using BudgetPeasy, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use BudgetPeasy.

If the law where you live requires a higher minimum age to consent to online services or data processing, you must meet that higher age requirement.

If you are not legally able to enter into a binding agreement, you may use BudgetPeasy only with permission from a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

You may not use the Service if applicable law prohibits you from doing so.

2. About BudgetPeasy

BudgetPeasy is a manual budgeting and financial-record organization service.

The Service may allow users to:

  • create personal and shared wallets;
  • record expenses and income;
  • organize categories and budget sources;
  • create budgets and limits;
  • manage recurring financial records;
  • generate reports and exports;
  • invite other people to shared wallets;
  • use ChatBot or voice tools to create draft financial records;
  • purchase and manage Premium access.

BudgetPeasy is not:

  • a bank;
  • a credit union;
  • an investment adviser;
  • a financial planner;
  • an accountant;
  • a tax adviser;
  • a lender;
  • a payment account;
  • a money-transmission service.

BudgetPeasy does not verify that your financial records are complete or accurate. Information displayed by the Service is based primarily on information entered or confirmed by users.

Nothing in the Service constitutes financial, investment, legal, accounting, or tax advice.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for:

  • providing accurate account information;
  • maintaining access to your email or authentication provider;
  • protecting your devices, passkeys, and authentication methods;
  • reviewing active sessions and connected identities;
  • notifying us promptly of suspected unauthorized access;
  • all activity performed through your account unless caused by our failure to use reasonable security measures.

You may not:

  • create an account using another person’s identity without authorization;
  • share authentication credentials in a way that compromises account security;
  • sell, rent, or transfer an account;
  • create accounts to evade a suspension, subscription restriction, or security control.

We may require email verification, recent authentication, or another reasonable identity-verification step for sensitive actions.

4. Financial Records and User Responsibility

You control the information you enter into BudgetPeasy.

You are responsible for reviewing:

  • amounts;
  • currencies;
  • dates;
  • categories;
  • descriptions;
  • recurring rules;
  • budget calculations;
  • reports;
  • exported files;
  • records generated through ChatBot or voice entry.

BudgetPeasy may contain calculation, synchronization, classification, transcription, or display errors.

You should not rely on BudgetPeasy as the sole record for tax filings, legal proceedings, accounting obligations, loan applications, regulatory reporting, or emergency financial decisions.

Maintain independent copies of records where loss of those records could cause significant harm.

5. Your Content

“User Content” includes information that you submit to BudgetPeasy, such as:

  • financial records;
  • wallet names;
  • descriptions and notes;
  • categories and tags;
  • ChatBot messages;
  • voice input;
  • support messages;
  • files and reports.

You retain your rights in your User Content.

You grant Peasy Software a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, format, display, and otherwise use User Content only as reasonably necessary to:

  • operate BudgetPeasy;
  • provide requested features;
  • synchronize information between your devices;
  • make authorized shared-wallet content available to members;
  • create requested reports and exports;
  • provide support;
  • protect the Service;
  • comply with law.

This license ends when the relevant content is deleted, except where temporary backup retention, shared-wallet rules, legal obligations, security needs, or technical deletion records require limited continued retention.

You represent that you have the right to submit your User Content and to make it available to any shared-wallet members you authorize.

6. Shared Wallets

A shared wallet allows multiple users to view or manage financial records according to assigned permissions.

Wallet owners are responsible for:

  • deciding whom to invite;
  • assigning appropriate roles;
  • removing access when it is no longer appropriate;
  • ensuring they have authority to share wallet information;
  • transferring ownership or deleting the wallet when necessary.

Members may see financial information entered by other members, including amounts, dates, descriptions, categories, and creator attribution.

Do not add private information to a shared wallet unless you are comfortable making it available to every authorized member.

Removing a member does not automatically delete financial records already added to the shared wallet.

If an account is deleted, records retained in another owner’s shared wallet may remain while the deleted member’s identity is anonymized and shown as “Deleted member.”

A wallet owner may be required to transfer ownership, remove other members, or delete the wallet before deleting the owner account.

7. ChatBot and Voice Features

BudgetPeasy may provide optional ChatBot and voice-entry features that use automated systems and third-party AI services.

These tools may:

  • transcribe audio incorrectly;
  • misunderstand descriptions;
  • select an incorrect amount, currency, category, payee, or date;
  • omit an intended record;
  • create duplicate or incomplete drafts;
  • produce other inaccurate results.

You must review generated drafts and saved records.

Peasy Software is not responsible for a loss caused solely by your failure to review an AI-generated or voice-generated record before relying on it.

When using these features, do not submit:

  • authentication credentials;
  • complete payment-card details;
  • bank-account numbers;
  • government identification numbers;
  • unnecessary medical or other highly sensitive information;
  • information that you do not have the right to process or share.

Use of ChatBot and voice features is also subject to our Privacy Policy.

8. Free and Premium Features

BudgetPeasy may offer free and paid plans.

The features, usage limits, wallet limits, member limits, export options, reporting capabilities, ChatBot access, voice access, and other benefits included in each plan are described at the time the plan is offered.

We may add, remove, replace, or modify features.

For material changes that significantly reduce a paid plan during an active billing period, we will provide notice where reasonably possible and honor any rights required by applicable law.

Features may differ between the website, iOS application, Android application, regions, devices, and application versions.

9. Subscriptions

Premium subscriptions may be offered monthly, annually, or for another period displayed at purchase.

Unless stated otherwise at checkout, a paid subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period until canceled.

The price, currency, billing period, trial terms, included features, and applicable taxes are displayed before purchase by BudgetPeasy or the relevant billing provider.

Subscription prices may change. Any price change will be communicated and implemented in accordance with the rules of the provider that processes the subscription and applicable law.

10. Billing Providers

The provider that processes your subscription depends on where you purchase it.

Website purchases

Website subscriptions are processed by Paddle.

Paddle acts as the seller or authorized reseller for the payment transaction. Your purchase through Paddle is also subject to Paddle’s buyer terms, privacy notice, refund policy, tax rules, and checkout disclosures.

These Terms continue to govern your access to and use of the BudgetPeasy product.

Apple App Store purchases

Subscriptions purchased through the iOS application are processed by Apple.

App Store purchases are subject to Apple’s applicable payment, subscription, cancellation, refund, and media-services terms.

Peasy Software does not receive your complete Apple payment information and cannot directly control Apple’s final refund decisions.

Google Play purchases

Subscriptions purchased through the Android application are processed through Google Play.

Google Play purchases are subject to Google’s applicable payment, subscription, cancellation, and refund terms.

Approved refunds for Google Play purchases are processed through Google Play.

11. Cancellation

You may cancel a subscription at any time through the provider where it was purchased.

Cancellation normally:

  • prevents the next automatic renewal;
  • does not retroactively cancel the current paid period;
  • allows Premium access to continue until the end of the current paid period;
  • does not automatically provide a refund.

Uninstalling an application does not cancel a subscription.

Deleting a BudgetPeasy account does not necessarily cancel an active subscription managed by Apple, Google Play, or another billing provider.

Before deleting your account, review and cancel the subscription through the provider where it was purchased unless BudgetPeasy expressly confirms that the subscription has been canceled.

Additional cancellation information is provided in our Cancellation & Refund Policy.

12. Refunds

Refund eligibility depends on:

  • where the subscription was purchased;
  • the billing provider;
  • the reason for the request;
  • the date of the purchase or renewal;
  • applicable consumer-protection law;
  • our published Cancellation & Refund Policy.

Website refund requests are processed through Paddle.

Apple App Store refund requests are reviewed and processed by Apple.

Google Play refund requests may be reviewed or processed through Google Play, and in certain circumstances Peasy Software may be able to assist through the Google Play developer tools.

Cancellation by itself does not guarantee a refund.

If a full refund is issued, Premium access associated with the refunded purchase may end immediately.

Nothing in these Terms limits non-waivable refund, withdrawal, warranty, or consumer rights available under applicable law.

13. Trials and Promotions

BudgetPeasy may offer a free trial, introductory price, discount, coupon, or other promotion.

Promotional terms may include:

  • eligibility requirements;
  • a limited duration;
  • automatic conversion to a paid subscription;
  • restrictions on repeated use;
  • platform or regional limitations.

Unless the promotion states otherwise, a trial that requires a payment method may automatically convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period.

Cancel before the trial or promotional period ends to avoid the next charge.

We may deny or revoke a promotion where we reasonably believe there is fraud, abuse, duplicate use, or circumvention of eligibility rules.

14. Account Deletion

You may request account deletion through the Privacy & Data section of BudgetPeasy or through the public account-deletion process.

Deletion requires recent authentication or reasonable verification.

After a deletion request:

  • the account is locked;
  • sessions are revoked;
  • a seven-day recovery period begins;
  • you may recover the account during that period;
  • permanent processing begins after the recovery period;
  • eligible production data is deleted or anonymized no later than 30 days after the recovery period ends.

Shared-wallet information may be retained and anonymized as described in these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

Certain limited billing, security, fraud-prevention, tax, accounting, dispute, or legal records may be retained where reasonably necessary or required by law.

Deleted information may remain in encrypted disaster-recovery backups until normal backup rotation removes it, generally within 30 to 90 days.

15. Acceptable Use

You may use BudgetPeasy only for lawful purposes.

You may not:

  • access another person’s account or wallet without authorization;
  • attempt to bypass wallet permissions or security controls;
  • submit false or fraudulent payment information;
  • use stolen payment credentials;
  • interfere with the Service or its infrastructure;
  • introduce malware or harmful code;
  • overload, probe, scan, or test systems without written authorization;
  • scrape or automatically extract information except through an authorized feature or API;
  • reverse engineer or attempt to derive non-public source code except where applicable law expressly permits it;
  • use BudgetPeasy to violate another person’s privacy or intellectual-property rights;
  • impersonate another person or organization;
  • use ChatBot or voice features for unlawful, abusive, or harmful activities;
  • abuse trials, promotions, refunds, chargebacks, invitations, or account-creation systems;
  • use the Service in a way that could expose Peasy Software or another person to legal or security risk.

We may investigate suspected violations and take reasonable steps to protect users and the Service.

16. Intellectual Property

BudgetPeasy, including its software, design, branding, interfaces, documentation, graphics, logos, and other materials provided by Peasy Software, is owned by Peasy Software LLC or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

These Terms give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to access and use the Service for its intended purpose.

These Terms do not transfer ownership of BudgetPeasy or its intellectual property to you.

You may not copy, sell, license, distribute, create derivative works from, or commercially exploit BudgetPeasy except with our written permission or where applicable law expressly allows it.

17. Feedback

You may provide ideas, suggestions, or feedback about BudgetPeasy.

You grant Peasy Software permission to use feedback without restriction or compensation, provided that we do not publicly identify you as the source without permission.

Do not submit feedback containing confidential information that you do not want us to use.

18. Third-Party Services

BudgetPeasy relies on third-party services, which may include:

  • hosting and infrastructure providers;
  • Paddle;
  • Apple;
  • Google;
  • OpenAI;
  • email providers;
  • notification providers.

Third-party services operate under their own terms and privacy policies.

We are not responsible for third-party services outside our reasonable control. However, this does not limit any responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Availability of a feature may depend on continued access to a third-party service.

19. Service Availability and Changes

We aim to provide a reliable Service, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.

BudgetPeasy may be unavailable because of:

  • maintenance;
  • deployments;
  • infrastructure failures;
  • provider outages;
  • security incidents;
  • legal restrictions;
  • internet or device problems;
  • circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service.

Where reasonably possible, we will provide notice before a material discontinuation affecting paid users.

20. Suspension and Termination

We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access where reasonably necessary because:

  • you materially violate these Terms;
  • use of the account creates a security risk;
  • payment is fraudulent, reversed, disputed, or overdue;
  • we are required to act by law or a provider;
  • the Service is being abused;
  • continued access could harm another user, Peasy Software, or the public.

Where appropriate, we may provide notice and an opportunity to correct the issue.

We may act immediately where necessary to address fraud, unauthorized access, a serious security threat, illegal conduct, or harm to others.

Suspension does not automatically cancel a subscription or create a refund unless required by law or stated in our Cancellation & Refund Policy.

You may stop using BudgetPeasy at any time.

21. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, retain, disclose, and protect personal information.

By using BudgetPeasy, you acknowledge that information will be processed as described in the Privacy Policy.

22. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BudgetPeasy is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

Peasy Software does not guarantee that:

  • the Service will always be available;
  • every record will be synchronized without delay;
  • ChatBot or voice results will be accurate;
  • every report or calculation will be error-free;
  • the Service will meet every individual requirement;
  • every defect will be corrected immediately;
  • third-party services will remain available.

Peasy Software disclaims implied warranties to the extent permitted by law, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and quiet enjoyment.

These disclaimers do not limit warranties or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

23. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Peasy Software will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, loss of opportunity, loss of goodwill, or loss of data, arising from or relating to the Service.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Peasy Software’s total aggregate liability arising from or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of:

  • the amount you paid to Peasy Software or its billing providers for BudgetPeasy during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim; or
  • US $100.

These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including certain liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, personal injury, or mandatory consumer rights.

24. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Before starting formal legal proceedings, you agree to contact us at [email protected] and make a reasonable effort to resolve the dispute informally.

Subject to mandatory consumer rights, courts located in Minnesota will have jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or the Service.

If you are a consumer, nothing in this section deprives you of protections or dispute-resolution rights that cannot be waived under the laws of your country, state, province, or region.

Transactions processed by Paddle, Apple, or Google may also be subject to the governing-law and dispute provisions in the applicable provider’s terms.

25. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect:

  • changes to BudgetPeasy;
  • changes to subscriptions or billing providers;
  • security or operational requirements;
  • legal or regulatory developments;
  • improvements in clarity.

We will update the effective date when the Terms change.

Where required by law or where a change materially affects your rights, we will provide additional notice.

If you continue using the Service after updated Terms take effect, you agree to the updated Terms, except where applicable law requires another form of consent.

26. General Terms

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.

You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without our written permission.

We may assign these Terms as part of a merger, acquisition, corporate reorganization, financing, or sale of all or part of our business, subject to applicable law.

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Cancellation & Refund Policy, Cookie Policy, and any purchase-specific disclosures, form the agreement governing your use of BudgetPeasy.
